Marietta, GA – First Ask Why, then How

Asking why we do things can be more important than knowing how to do them.  Being efficient doing something that might not affect the customer experience might not be the best use of an employee’s time.  Encourage employees to understand processes with the knowledge that they might have valuable input how the processes might be tweaked to be more efficient if really necessary.  Information Technology (Hardware, Software, Networks) has allowed companies to gather so much data because of cheap storage.  The good executive has to eliminate the information that is not necessary.  Speed and simplicity has to remain in the back of a manager’s mind.  Don’t let analyzing data become more important than serving the customer.
